This album is the soundtrack to Libration Song, a twin screen video installation that explores our unconscious connection to the moon, it is intended for site specific installation in sites where it can be synchronised to the cycle of high and low tide. The six hour 12 minute duration is precisely the length of time from high tide to low. Using local tide timetables the two videos represent the locally embodied movement of the moon using a visual language that echoes the cultural memory of snowy analogue Apollo broadcasts from the original moon landings. While the soundtrack is composed of tuned radio noise from these original missions and cycles through all twelve keys over the same duration like a double speed clock.
