East Coast Low is a collection of tracks that were recorded in 2018 while in residence at the T5 Tank in Georges Heights in Sydney. They were originally composed for 8 channel site-specific surround performance and presented at the Sydney Festival in 2019.

Performed, composed and recorded by Chris Caines with support from The Australia Council, Mosman Art Gallery, The Sydney Harbour Trust and the University of Technology Sydney. Project curator and producer was John Cheeseman. Many thanks go to the other performer/composers and collaborators who devised and performed pieces for the T5 Project, David Haines, Joyce Hinterding and Gail Priest. The pieces on this album are as much a response to the works produced by these three artists as they are a response to the location we produced in over that time.

Instrumentation - the album was recorded live from a small modular synthesiser containing modules from Make Noise, Mutable Instruments, Doepfer and Expert Sleepers and sequenced from Ableton Live.
